I have this question bothering me and I really want us to look into this:

1. is link building (dofollow backlink) still an effective off-page seo strategy in 2019? if yes how long? any predictions?

2. If link building is still an effective strategy, how can one get quality links using effective whitehat seo strategies?
Doing guest post or getting organic or natural links from authority sites isn't as easy as proposed by seo bloggers all over the internet.

I believe that no follow links has always had some value. They can be seen as an authority single and indirectly increase rankings.

Dofollow backlinks allow Google, or whatever search engine is being used, to follow them and reach your website. Basically, these are links that will pass on the SEO benefits of the website where it is built from to the hyperlinked website.

Yes link building is the best technique for SEO. My experience shows that nofollow links give some value but more important is the spam score. If the link comes from a website that has a high spam score, that link may do harm.
