although affiliate programs pay more, adsense is much much easier to manage.. so i'd say adsense is better.

but i believe adsense gives higher pay per click than affiliates..
affiliates gives higher commission in every converted sales..

either of the two is good for everyone... I believe its on your optimization that will depend to get a higher commission...
