Yahoo does show almost all of your backlinks...while goolge won't unless you check it on webmaster tool.. the reason behind this is that they do protect the resources of backlinks of the site in order to avoid being spied or used by its competitor..though they show only certain number of backlinks within the backlink query,,,but you can see the detailed bL's of your site on google webmaster tool..

Google wont really show your total BL no matter how many years you wait they do this in order to protect your resources or strategies being used for your page to rank..just apply for a GWT then copy and paste the code on the home page code in order to track down all of your BL's..

Thats right even if Yahoo Explorer displayed a thousands of links. You cannot easily filtered them according to its relevance.

Google will only show quality links, while Yahoo will show whatever links available in their database.

One think might Google thinking on limiting the showing of sites backlink is that maybe for competition, so that the competitor of that site will not see where their site coming.

Definitely true. Google and Yahoo are two different SEs. Therefore, they have different algorithm, which includes how they show their backlinks with a link command. ;)

Yahoo has a different algorithm. It counts all links, including nofollow ones.
