Tips for Getting Listed in Dmoz

It is very difficult to be listed in DMOZ

Be very careful choosing the category where you will submit your website. Unless your site is extraordinary, or there is an editor oversight, you will usually only get one, or maybe two listings. Get it right the first time.

It's hard to get a site accepted into Dmoz because there aren't enough volunteer editors and many categories have not been editted in several years. If you submit to a category without an editor, it may not be accepted, because no one is editting that category. Try to find a category that fits for your site that has an editor. Then you'll have a much better chance at getting your site accepted.

Becoming an editor is not that hard. You have to apply and submit sample listings. Pick a category that has a small number of listings to start. They may think you can't handle a large category as a novice.
