Custom Toolbars : A way to bring a new traffic

I'd like to know your opinion about such a way. I think that building a custom toolbar may bring a lot of benefits to you. For example, if you build it, and then register it in a software catalogues, which are highly popular, that may bring a new traffic to you. Also it may increase your PR, because you'll get a lot of your links on a popular sites with high PR. So, I think it could be a powerful marketing tool, What do you think?

It sounds like a good idea, but the hard part is probably going to be in writing the actual software and distributing it.

But as you can tell custom toolbars isn't my area. But stick around and someone might point you in the right direction.

Thank you for your reply, Edgar. And what do you say if there will be an easy way to make such a soft? A WYSIWYG toolbar maker for example? Would you use to make a toolbar and use it in a promotion??
