I have been told that if you have a sports forum that if you can submit your site to a news feed it will help with SEO I have applied to one has anyone else got any other way that would give good traffic to my site, or any other tips.

In order to submit to news feeds you need to have RSS Feeds or your forum needs to have an RSS Feed version, then submit your RSS Feeds to RSS Feed Directories. It may not help much with rankings, but it may bring you additional traffic if some people actually start posting your feeds.

you may also submit your site to directories and do promotional ads so that your site will be recognize.
