Is it worth getting backlinks from sites with unrelated content to yours?
For example I have a
Driving Lessons site and if it would help then I would add links in the footer to my other sites.

It's ok to get back links from sites with unrelated content to yours. But, it's better if you get back links which are related to your category.

Always try to get links from the site that is relevant to your website because maybe visitors of that page might not find your link relevant to them and might you get a no-follow link, which is not good for SERP rankings.

Having a back link from a site that is not related to your category is always good, but having a link that is from a relevant website is great.
I have found in many cases that just by getting links from high quality, high traffic, or high domain authority.... will get you results 80+% of the time.
To be clear...I aim for relevant sites, but there are many more opportunities that are not on relevant sites. Getting those links along your backlink journey will help you out. When it comes to YMYL sectors it is a weighted heavier towards relevant links (ie Accountants, Lawyers)
I just posted a link to a Free High DA link (
