DMOZ alternative

Is there anything as alternative to DMOZ, a place where you should be registered on Internet. I am not talking about free directories but something official. Don´t want to pay Alexa crazy rates just to be listed there.

Honestly, Mapquest, Google My Business, Yelp, Pinterest, Flickr, Facebook, etc.
If you are specifically referring to dofollow links,
Mapquest is great

I think Google My Business is one of the best alternatives for the Dmoz directory. You can list your business and post the content at regular intervals.
