Memphissigncompany is listed with DMOZ but I don't understand how this will help with the serch engines?
I thought that keywords and the name are the most important for people to find it.

Links pointing at your site from other sites are good.
Imagine every link to your site is a vote for your site in the eyes of the search engines.

It will benefit from backlink as well as your site will be more crawable to bots.

DMOZ was an incredibly important link to have because, it brought direct traffic as many DMOZ pages ranked well for search queries and were used directly by web visitors.

DMOZ is a high reputation directory, and you'll next find your site listed to other directories like Google Directory.

Getting into Dmoz is a bit of a lottery frankly. Those responsible for deciding who goes in and who doesn't work voluntarily, hence they move through the thousands of submitted sites at their own pace. Sometimes you might get lucky, sometimes (like me!) you don't. I have submitted all five of my sites, and almost one year later, not one of them has made it into the directory. Enjoy your priveleged position, my friend!

As a backlink 's value, Link from Dmoz is valuable link. It is big vote to your site. Search engines are easily crawl and give you index. That is necessary for your site to be ranked in those search engines.
