Free directories work???

Yes, they do work. I have recently been promoting a dance realated website. It had almost no link-building done for it, and was pretty well invisible to Google. I couldn't find it listed at all on the first ten pages for common searches related to its subject matter.

After getting it into about twenty free directories, plus some forum sig promotion, it's now on the first page for the chosen keywords. That took a few weeks.

Don't know how long it will stay there, of course, but those directory submissions must have had a lot to do with its improvement.

Yes, Free directory submissions working but there is some typical guidelines like relavency of directories and AGE. many other also but still useful.

Free directories also works well. But one of the disadvantages is that you have to wait for few weeks or even months for your website to be reviewed and be approved by some of the directories.

Yes. It can help in increasing not only in backlinks but also in pagerank and serp ranking.

Yes - Free directory works and Google count them in backlinks....this is the best way to get free backlinks

Free directories are good but there are some points to look out for.
First, the pagerank of that page, whether it is follow or nofollow and lastly the traffic for that directory. Hope this helps.

I am always able to rank a domain with keywords and less than 500,000 results in search very easily with 500 directory submissions. My vote will go for directory submissions.
