how will the search engin work????

Search Directories might be what you are talking about. Similar to Search engines but they usually don't have a spider/crawler of their own they rely on manual submissions to list your site. They do work as backlinks but not the most valuable. They also can be tedious to upload your info to them and they can take weeks to months to approve your site if they do at all. They usually cost too unless you offer them a reciprocal link which of course lowers the link juice vs. a one-way link.

I don't think it will work.

There are many ways to generate backlinks into your site you need to promote it with link building techniques and by creation of unique content that will attract the readers as well as the users to regularly visit your site.
