Which is the most effective Paid Web Directory?

I am new to SEO and i am assigned the task to make a website popular, so please tell me which paid directory is most effective in this sense to increase traffic. thanks in advance

I don't submit my links to paid directories. Why pay if you can get listed in free directories? Don't waste your money.

if you want paid directories, use the directories on search engines, like on yahoo.... it can help you a lot

If you want traffic and ranking well in yahoo than Yahoo Directory is the best option for your otherwise there are many paid directories you find just you need to search in yahoo.

Is it necessary to go for paid directories option. Is there any other free and high pr ranking directories.
