yup,, i also believe that yahoo is more on on-page optimization.. well I got thousands of backlinks from yahoo,, but it is nothing to do with their SERP..

some of my site especially one page having optimization usually got high ranking

Another on-page factor for Yahoo is the site structure/theme and keyword placement/usage

It is really true that Yahoo is more focus on-page factor such as anchor , keywords, relevancy and content. Try to submit an article to article submission using your targeted keywords

Yes their still into on-page..But come to think about this.. Is it worth it? Anyway, I am still glad that they still give importance to on page e.g metas.. etc unlike google..

I observed that updates in Yahoo is more frequent than Google. In this case, Yahoo is doing their best in on page and gives more relevant of the websites in SE

Yahoo does not give best search results

Yahoo focuses primarily on on-page. But is the links from relevant and related sites that should add value to sites so that users get high value search results. This what gives Google a distinct edge when it comes to search engine.
