Hi, I am trying to build more traffic to my site unfortunately i am not doing it correctly, could anyone here please tell me how to do effective bookmarking? i really want to use this to promote my site..thanks

Just sign up to social bookmarking sites and then submit your site. It is just like submitting your site to directories.
