long tail keywords are helpful to get good traffic.Also its easy to get in SE at top position.Try to target more keywords for same time so that you can get huge traffic from it.

yes i have use long tail keywords and one of the best and important factor and benefit of this keywords is that you can get results fast then short tail keyword and its easy to rank it.
