Convert string to be used as a column name in Oracle

I need to utilize change over a segment name to string or the other way around. I require it for a question that I keep running in an EMM suite named Unica (IBM Experience One).
I have a string i.e. 'CL_CREDIT_LIMIT' that I have to utilize it in a question as a string to populate a table (utilizing CASE) and furthermore I have to use as a section name. Both in a similar inquiry.
All the more IBM Unica Campaign particularly, I pass this incentive to a Macro(in Unica) yet just once (either as string (with ' ') or as section name). So I simply require an approach to change over these into each other and it doesn't make a difference which one to which yet ideally segment name to string.
