Google ranking
I'm not sure, but IMO. Changing hosting company will lead to the change of IP Address. As far as I know IP Address is extremely important when the search engines make their SERP.
So, what I assume, you might tempererly drop your SERP with the search engines, but you'l get it back soon. Once again, IMO.
Have a great day,
Peter

This is my problem i am not only changing my host server but i am also changing the whole look of my site,
I know that my site will be search engine friendly but i am not sure about the hosting server,
should i add the new site and server together under a different domain name and then after a few months change the domian name or should i just add the new site to a new hosting server with the old domain name, dialemers what should i do.

You raised a tricky question. I don't know the answer. But it seems to me if you add the new site and server together under a different domain name and then after a few months change the domian name that will look very artificial for the search engines. They will keep your content in the cache for a while under the old domain, then the same content will appear under the new domain, it might look as duplicate. Very, very iffy. IMO.andy woolfe wrote:This is my problem i am not only changing my host server but i am also changing the whole look of my site,

I just expressed my opinion, using what I think is common sense. It doesn't mean I'm right.andy woolfe wrote:Thats what i thought, i would probably end up getting penalised for duplicate site material i think i am going to just have to take a drop in rankings whilst i change things over, as i can't really see any other option.
Someone else might have different opinion, or other idea.

There is no problem with changing your hosting company. But you have to use 301 redirect for your new host. For detail process for redirect see:
